Activity Overview
In this lesson, students will model and solve air traffic control problems with geometry software. The Cabri Jr. application will be used to construct a model of the problem situation and concepts from trigonometry and proportions are then applied to find the solution.
Before the Activity
Students should have access to the TI-84 family of calculators and a copy of the attached file.
During the Activity
The TI-Navigator Screen Capture Tool may be used to monitor the students' models or check their calculations.
After the Activity
Review student answers:
As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging
Re-teach concepts as necessary
