Activity Overview

Use your TI-84 Silver Plus calculator and the Carbri Jr file 'PYTHAG' to have students investigate what happens to the results of the Pythagorean Theorem for acute, right, and obtuse triangles.

Before the Activity

Students should have access to the TI-84/TI-84 Plus and Cabri. Jr.

During the Activity

Use your TI-84 Silver Plus calculator and the Carbri Jr file 'PYTHAG' to have students investigate what happens to the results of the Pythagorean Theorem for acute, right, and obtuse triangles.

After the Activity

Review student answers:

As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging
