Activity Overview
Students will learn the use of Taylor's polynomials to integrate functions that are not easily integrated by hand. They learn this by completing a series of calculations that vary from integrating to finding a Taylor polynomial.
Before the Activity
See the attached Activity PDF file(s) for detailed instructions for this activity.
During the Activity
Follow the procedures outlined in the activity.
Students will:
Compare the integral of the Taylor polynomial of a given function to the Taylor polynomial of the integral of the same function.
After the Activity
Review student results
As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging
Re-teach concepts as necessary
