This activity allows students to reason about ratio tables, which helps their understanding of what a ratio describes in a context and what quantities in equivalent ratios have in common.
About the Lesson
In this TI-Nspire™ lesson, students compare the graphs of different collections of ratios and begin to make conjectures about slope and how to compare slopes in terms of differences in rates of change.
Prior to working on this lesson, student should understand:
- the concept of ordered pairs;
- how to plot points on a coordinate grid;
- how to complete a ratio table;
- the concept of rational numbers.
