In this activity, students explore the relationship between a circle's circumference and its diameter. This will lead students to their own discovery of a value for pi.
Students explore the diameter and circumference of a circle. They use the Cabri™ Jr. app to construct a circle.
Students construct the diameter of a circle, measure it, and record their answer. Then they use the Measurement tool to find the circumference of the circle.
Changing the size of the circle, students will observe the value of the ratio of the circumference to the diameter. On the Home screen, they can confirm these ratios.
