Activity Overview
In this activity, students use the CellSheet Application to determine the missing value in a weighted mean. They use the application to write a formula to find the weighted mean and also learn to use the copy and paste features.
Before the Activity
Set up the CellSheet on the calculator using the TI Connect™

During the Activity
Distribute the pages to your class.
Follow the Activity procedures:
Open the CellSheet Application on the calculator and create a new spreadsheet
Enter the assignment type, corresponding score for the assignments, and weight of each assignment in separate columns
Enter three test scores leaving the fourth test score blank
Enter the formula for weighted value of each assignment (score for an assignment multiplied by the weight of an assignment)
Enter different scores for the fourth test
Find out the test score that will result in a specified overall grade
After the Activity
Students will complete the worksheet and answer questions.
Review student results:
As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging
Re-teach concepts as necessary
