Students investigate the connections between the points on a line and the equation of the line written in slope-intercept form.
Students find the coordinates of the points on the line, followed by its slope and y-intercept.
Students change either the slope or y-intercept of an equation and watch how the line changes.
Next, students construct two lines parallel to the given line, one through point A and the other through point B. They will also construct two lines perpendicular to the given line and observe the relationship between the slopes of the lines.
