Activity Overview
In this TI-84 activity, students use their graphing calculator to explore world population data from the years 1950-2023. They will develop various equations to model the data.
About the Lesson
Population growth can be modeled using various exponential functions. In this activity, students will use two different methods to find the best model for given data. The data will represent the midyear world population from the years 1950 – 2023, where year 1 represents the year 1950.
Students will use the calculator program WORLDPOP to get world population data on to their graphing calculator.
