Before the Activity
Introduction to stoichiometry, molarity, concentration, Beer's law and light interactions.
During the Activity

After the Activity
Students will work in groups of two to discuss the similarities of photochromic glass and gemstones. Using literary circles as the basis of their discussions and after completion of the discussion begin a lab on concentration and how it affects light transmittance.
