Activity Overview
Students will use the measurement tool and calculator application of the TI-nSpire™ to determine the angle of elevation for the sighting of an eagle and to also determine its distance away. They will then determine the total distance the hiker must travel to reach the eagle.
Before the Activity
Students should be able to identify which trigonometric function is needed to solve problems.
During the Activity
Have students work through the TNS file. They can either answer questions inside the document or can record their responses on a separate sheet of paper.
