Properties of Parrallelograms
Before the Activity
Explore relationships (including congruence and similarity) among classes of two- and three-dimensional geometric objects, make and test conjectures about them, and solve problems involving them.
This activity will help students visualize the construction of a parallelogram and the properties of side, angles and diagonals.
Extensions are built into the construction.
During the Activity
Students will: 1. Construct a parallelogram. 2. Measure sides and angles to visualize the relationships between the sides and angles of a parallelogram. 3. Try to alter the properties of their construction by moving the vertices
