Triangle: Side Lengths and Angle Measures

Published on 08/01/2011

Activity Overview

The main purpose of this activity is to allow students to use TI-Nspire or TI-Nspire CAS to explore and decide which sides and angles of a triangle are the smallest and which are the largest.

Before the Activity

Students should have working knowledge of the triangle sum theorem.

During the Activity

See attachments.

After the Activity

After the activity, students should be able to discover that the side opposite the largest angle of a triangle will be the longest side of the triangle and the side opposite the smallest angle of a triangle will be the shortest side of the triangle.
