JASON: Does Clear Water Mean Healthy Water?

Activity Overview

JASON Aquatic Field Study: Explore how most aquatic animals and plants need clear water to survive by performing an experiment to measure the water clarity of a local aquatic site.

During the Activity

Students will:

  • Collect a water sample at a local aquatic site to determine water clarity
  • Measure the water's turbidity using a Tubidity Sensor connected to a TI CBL 2™ or Vernier LabPro® and a TI-73 Explorer™
