Activity Overview
In "Sacrifice", Charlie is trying to reconstruct the data that was erased from a computer. Charlie found data that were baseball statistics used for an application of sabermetrics, a statistical process that places numerical values on specific skills. In this activity, students will calculate the Pythagorean Expectation, a sabermetric statistic used to predict the winning percentage of a specific team and compare these estimates with actual results to find a line of best fit modeling the data.
