Before the Activity
Students need to know how to find a numerical derivative with technology.
During the Activity
Students need the Nspire file pre-loaded on their handhelds.
Otherwise, students will need a copy of the worksheet (.pdf file).
After the Activity
A discussion about what students discovered should follow the end of the activity to ensure students know what characteristics of graphs cause a numerical derivative to be found.
