Transforming the Sine Function

Activity Overview

This activity will have the students transform the sine function over a interval -2pi to 2pi by adjusting the amplitude A, period B, phase shift C, and vertical change D in the general function, y = Asin(B(x - C) + D.

Before the Activity

Review "Translating the Sine Graph" document for complete directions and answers.

During the Activity

Download the Activity Center files. Send them to the students. Have the students match the points for a sine and cosine function for each set of points.
