Students will use the handheld to explore the differences between simple and compound interest. They develop a method of comapring the monies earned under each method of calculating interest and then develop a response to the intitial problem.
Before the Activity
Hand out the worksheet. Have students download the TNS activity. Place students in pairs to promote good math discussion.
During the Activity
Circulate through the room to help students maintain focus and answer questions. Highlight good discussion. The activity can also be teacher led using an overhead projector.
After the Activity
Collect the worksheet and have students save their files using their name and some descriptive words.
