Activity Overview
In this activity, students learn to convert temperature readings on the Fahrenheit scale to temperature readings on the Celsius scale.
Before the Activity
Set up the calculator as explained in the appendix file
See the attached PDF file for detailed instructions for this activity
Print the pages from the attached PDF file for the class
During the Activity
Distribute the pages to the class.
Follow the Activity procedures:
Enter the temperature reading on the Fahrenheit scale
Use the convert feature to get the corresponding value on the Celsius scale
Answer questions given at the end of the activity
Use the convert feature to check conversion between inches and meters
After the Activity
Review student results:
As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging
Re-teach concepts as necessary
