Activity Overview
This is a whole class activity to review the academic vocabulary related to the algebraic properties. (associative, commutative, inverse, identity, and distributive property)
The teacher will display an example and the students will label the property being demonstrated by moving their cursor in activity center to the correct label.
Before the Activity
Students should already have a working definition of each of the algebraic properties. It might be useful for students to have definitions and previous examples available.
During the Activity
Either freeze the screen or "black out" the image so that students are not just chasing around the screen. The idea is to move to the correct answer. Having some type of coundown mechanism is helpful for keeping the activity moving.
After the Activity
Ask students to make up more challenging examples for a different class period.
