Activity Overview
Cabri Jr. activitiy detailing how to construct a rectangle and investigating the following properties:
- The diagonals of the rectangle are congruent.
- The diagonals of a rectangle split the rectangle into four isosceles triangles.
- The diagonals of a rectangle form two sets of congruent isosceles triangles.
Before the Activity
Make sure the Cabri Jr.™ app is loaded on the students' calculators.
During the Activity
This activity provides step by step instructions on how to construct a rectangle using the Cabri Jr. application for the TI-84 family of calculators. Then it provides step by step instructions for investigating the properties of the rectangle. All students will need is a copy of the activity and a calculator with the Cabri Jr. application.
