Activity Overview

The students will use the .tns document REFLECT1 to discover the relationship between the lengths of the sides of a pre-image and image after reflection through a line.

The students will use the .tns document REFLECT1 to understand orientation of points and the relationship between orientation of the points of a pre-image and image after reflection through a line.

Before the Activity

  1. Download the .tns document REFLECT1 to handhelds using TI-Nspire Computer link software or Connect to Class software.
  2. Students should do the worksheet "Using TI-Nspire to Explore".

During the Activity

This activity is a lesson launcher for understanding the relationship between the lengths of the sides and orientation of points of a pre-image and image after reflection through a line.

  1. Distribute the Student Worksheet for Corresponding angles.
  2. Students use the .tns documents REFLECT1 to answer questions from student worksheet.

After the Activity

Review student results from worksheet.
