Investigating Quadrilaterals

Activity Overview

Students will create a variety of quadrilaterals using the GEOBOARD APP and identify critical attributes.

Before the Activity

Students will log in to NavNet and exit the APP.

During the Activity

Students will select the GEOBOARD APP and set up a square, 8x8 board. Assign specific quadrilaterals (trapezoid, rhombus, square, rectangle, parallelogram) to different students. Use Screen Capture once they have completed their constructions and have the students discuss the similarities and differences that they see. Then have them write sentences describing the critical attributes of each quadrilateral.

After the Activity

Review student results:

  • As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging
  • Re-teach concepts as necessary
