In this activity, students use the calculator to learn about the relationship between fractions, decimals, and percents.
Before the Activity
Set up the calculator as explained in the appendix file

Print the pages from the attached activity PDF file for the class
During the Activity
Distribute the pages to the class.
Follow the Activity procedures:
Addition of Two Proper Fractions:
Enter the numerator and the denominator of the first fraction, the addition operation, and the second fraction
Observe the steps and answer on the calculator
Subtracting Mixed Numbers
Enter the whole number of the mixed fraction as an unit, then the fraction, the operation of subtraction, and the second fraction
Compute the answer
Improper fractions:
Use the appropriate key to convert a mixed number to an improper fraction
Enter each fraction and add
Fractions, Decimals, and Percents:
Convert the fraction to a decimal using the decimal key
Convert the decimal into a percent using the percent key
Observe the answers and steps displayed on the screen
After the Activity
Review student results:
As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging
Re-teach concepts as necessary
