Model the optimization area problem for fencing on 3 sides. In Year 1, a linear relation between length and width is demonstrated. In Year 2, a quadratic relation between area and width is demonstrated. In year 3, students can compare their Calculus solution with the one provided on the Math Notes page. In addition, there is an activity to learn how to construct the TI-Nspire fence problem. Self-directed instructions with keystrokes are included with each activity.
