In this activity, students will use a Motion Detector to measure distance and velocity.
Students set up this experiment by attaching a motion detector to a ring stand and collect data as they drop coffee filters and books under the motion detector.
Distance vs time as well as velocity vs time graphs are compared and analyzed for the 2 different objects dropped in order to determine the terminal velocity and effects of air resistance.
