Buried Objects - Adventure 1

Activity Overview

Students use the CBR 2™ to gather data and identify "buried" objects. They interpret and analyze graphs of height as a function of time, and use the change in the y-coordinates of an ordered pair to determine the height of an object.

Key Steps

Students will set up on a table four boxes, each with an object inside. They will move the CBR 2 from one end of the table to the other, keeping the device at the same height from the table.
The CBR 2 will collect the distance from the device to the table or object. Students will then interpret the graphs to determine which object is in which box.
