Activity Overview
Students use the Rational Number Rampage application to play a game to find numbers that are equivalent fractions, decimals, and percents.
Before the Activity
Install the Rational Number Rampage App application on the calculator using the
TI Connect™
, TI Connectivity Cable, and Unit-to-Unit Link Cable
Set up the calculator as explained in the appendix file
See the attached PDF file for detailed instructions for this activity
Print the pages from the attached PDF file for the class
During the Activity
Distribute the pages to the class.
Follow the Activity procedures:
Select the Rational Number Rampage application and the appropriate level of difficulty
Select a card, note the number on it
Select another card and note the number on it
Determine if the two numbers are equivalent (decimals, fractions, percents, or mixed fractions)
Cards with number that are equivalent are removed from the game
Continue the game until all the cards are gone
Player scores points if there is an error in matching the numbers and the object of the game is to get the lowest score possible

As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging
Re-teach concepts as necessary
