Activity Overview
By writing the equation of a quadratic function and graphing the function, students will be able to view the quadratic model graphically. There are two vertical motion problems in this activity which will allow students to find solutions by tracing the graph of the quadratic function.
Before the Activity
Students may benefit by having prior knowledge of solving quadratic equations algebraically by factoring, completing the square or using the quadratic formula.
During the Activity
This activity can be teacher-led using the software only or students may easily follow this activity on their handhelds.
