Activity Overview

  • In this activity, students will create functions based on real-life scenarios, fill out a table of values, and critically analyze characteristics of graphs.
  • At the sixth grade level, this activity can be used to identify patterns and help students visualize a function on a graph.
  • At the seventh and eighth grade levels, student can formulate a function and critically analyze the function in three ways: graphically, in a table, and as an equation.
