Activity Overview
The students will use the Cabri Jr. APPVAR ALTHYP2M and ALTHYP3M to discover the relationship between a leg of a right triangle, the hypotenuse and the segment of the hypotenuse adjacent to that leg.
Before the Activity
- Download the Cabri Jr. APPVAR ALTHYP2M and ALTHYP3M to handhelds using TI-Connect software and unit to unit link cables. ALTHYP2M and ALTHYP3M may also be sent via TI-Navigator
- Students should do the worksheet "Selecting and dragging an object using Cabri Jr.".
During the Activity
This activity is a lesson launcher for understanding the relationship between a leg of a right triangle, the hypotenuse and the segment of the hypotenuse adjacent to that leg.
- Distribute the Student Worksheet for G.G. 47 with measures AC and the Student Worksheet for G.G. 47 with measures AC.
- Students use the Cabri Jr. APPVAR ALTHYP2M and ALTHYP3M to answer questions from student worksheet.

Review student results from worksheet.
