Resources for this module

Find videos, documents and calculator files (as needed) to aid in your teaching of questions found
on the AP® Calculus exam.

Videos

The videos below are divided into two sections: resource and technology. In the resource videos, you’ll find information on scoring, common misconceptions and techniques for approaching topics in the released free-response questions. The technology videos show the tech solutions available using your graphing calculator.

Resource Videos

These videos present the solutions, relevant AP® Calculus concepts, and typical scoring guidelines and interpretations associated with specific parts of the mock 2020 AP® Calculus exam. The detailed solutions emphasize the AP® Calculus mathematical practices and skills and include a reasonable expectation of how each would be scored.

2020 AP® Calculus BC2 Solutions, Concepts and Scoring Guidelines: Parts A–B

Free-response question BC2 involves a particle moving in the plane and presents a table of values. The problems discussed in this video involve the speed of a particle and the Net Change Theorem.

Technology Videos

Free-response questions with graphically presented functions have appeared regularly on AP®
exams (both AB and BC) over the last 20 years. Analyze functions using graphical information
on Texas Instruments graphing calculators with examples from the mock 2020 AP® Calculus BC exam.

TI-Nspire™ CX CAS graphing calculator

This video illustrates the use of the TI-Nspire™ Lists & Spreadsheet functionality to analyze a particle moving in the plane with parametric velocity values given in both tabular form (vertical velocity values at selected times given in a table) and algebraically (horizontal velocity values given by an explicit function formula). Euler’s Method is illustrated using the spreadsheet, and the scatterplot graphing is used to approximate the path of the particle.

TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculator

This video illustrates the use of the TI-84 Plus CE lists functionality to analyze a particle moving in the plane with parametric velocity values given in both tabular form (vertical velocity values at selected times given in a table) and algebraically (horizontal velocity values given by an explicit function formula). Euler’s Method is illustrated using the list editor.
