 Introduction

Parametric equations can be used to graph relations that are functions as well as relations that are not functions. For this reason parametric equations can be a useful tool in understanding trigonometric functions and inverse trigonometric functions. In this module you will learn to graph parametric equations on your calculator and then study trigonometric functions and their inverses.

Lesson Index:

    4.1 - Parametric Equations

    4.2 - Trigonometric Functions

    4.3 - Sine Regression

    4.4 - Inverse Trigonometric Functions

After completing this module, you should be able to do the following:

  • Use your calculator to graph parametric equations
  • Use parametric equations to graph a function and its inverse relation
  • Analyze a transformed sine wave
  • Download data to your computer and store it in your calculator
  • Use sine regression to fit an equation to sinusoidal data
  • Use parametric equations to graph inverse trigonometric relations and restrict their range to create inverse functions
