Ranger Introduction

Have you ever wondered how a car reverse sensor works? In this activity you will build a reverse sensor that provides audible and visual signals when an object becomes too close.

    How is light used to send text, images or sound? In this activity students convert a text message into binary code using the ASCII character map, the binary code is then used to oscillate an LED on the TI-Innovator according to the strings of 1’s and 0’s corresponding to their text message. Even a relatively slow signal is difficult to read prompting students to consider the next stage of this project.

        Pet Car Alarm

        In this TI-Innovator™ STEM project, students are given the challenge to design a “smart” pet alarm that will cool the interior of a car and notify the owner if a pet has accidentally been left in a hot car.
