Year 9: What's my line

Objectives

In this activity students are provided with a series of randomly generated linear graphs. Students determine the equation to the line by studying the graph and record the equation in the form y=mx + c.

About the Lesson

The teacher can use the sample TI-Nspire file or follow the instructions to create their own version. The file can then be distributed to student calculators whereby random linear equations are generated for students to guess their equation. The results are automatically stored for student assessment.
