How do I graph a piecewise function?

The piecewise function supports entry of functions as they are seen in textbooks. This command can be found in n MATH B:piecewise(

Press n or to scroll to B:piecewise(

To graph piecewise functions, follow these steps.

Example: Graph y=x^2; when x<2 and y=x-1 when x2.

  1. In the function editor, press arrow keys to an empty entry line and press n and select B: piecewise.
  2. Choose the number of pieces. The default is 3.
  3. Enter each function and its boundaries. Note: There are a set of conditions that can be pulled from the conditions tab under the # key.
  4. Press ^ to use full screen editing mode if needed. 
  5. When all pieces are entered press h or g to view the function and begin exploring.

Note: If the graph of this function is not displayed, the size of the viewing window on the graph screen may need to be changed. Press f 4 to restore the default window settings.
