We know it’s a busy time of year. Senior students are doing their exams. Teachers are marking exams and writing reports. Meanwhile, you now have a whole bunch of new classes as students transition up a year level. We can’t mark your exams or write your reports. We certainly can’t sit the exams either. We can provide you with a bunch of getting started resources that will save you time and engage your students as they come through the week or so of transition classes. The resources are self- directed tasks so that students can work at their own pace leaving you free to … help them. By the way, we’ve even prepared the answers for you. So invest an hour with us on this webinar so that we can help cut down your preparation time and perhaps learn a few cool things along the way that you and your students can do with TI-Nspire.

What can my Senior Mathematics students achieve in their transition week? Most schools have introduced a ‘transition week’, ‘step up program’, ‘early commencement’ or similar, to help retain students for a longer period of time at this late stage of the year . This is a major inconvenience for senior teachers as they try to mark exam papers, write reports and start getting courses ready. No time for reflection or to debrief on the positives and negatives of 2017, there are students waiting! To help relieve the pressure, we created a series of extended investigations that should keep your students engaged to the very end of the year. The resources are self- directed tasks so that students can work at their own pace leaving you free to … help them. By the way, we’ve even prepared the answers for you. So invest an hour with us on this webinar so we can help cut down your preparation time.

Australia Central Daylight Time (Adelaide, GMT+10:30)

Duration: 1 hour

We will look back at the first year of the Stage 2 SACE accredited General Mathematics course and the external examination. We will discuss what we, as teachers, and our students have experienced and learnt over the year.
The 2017 SACE Subject Outline states that students need to understand "the role of electronic technology in the study of Mathematics", make "informed decisions about the use of electronic technology" and "extend their skills in using technology effectively". So, how can the TI-84 be used to achieve this and be applied across all six Topics?
In this webinar we will address these Topics, with a particular focus on Statistical, Financial and Discrete Models, simultaneous linear equations, matrices and linear programming. Participants will be shown how the TI-84 can be utilised to strengthen teachers explanation of these skills and deepen students understanding.
There will also be opportunity to have your subject specific questions answered.

The 2017 SACE Subject Outline states that students need to develop "informed decisions about the use of electronic technology" and "extend their skills in using (such) technology". So, how can the TI-84 be used to achieve this and address the 30 "electronic technology" comments made in the course subtopics?
In this webinar we will focus on these and look at various aspects of calculus and statistics, highlighting where the TI-84 can be used to strengthen teachers explanation of key skills and deepen students understanding.
There will also be an opportunity for attendees to have their questions answered.
