Lines and Conics App - Introduction To
The Lines and Conics App create graphs of conic sections using equation templates for lines (in standard form), parabolas, circles, ellipses, and hyperbolas. You can graph and trace multiple conic sections and functions on the same display to compare and analyze them together.
For an introduction to the Lines and Conics App, see the examples below.
Lines and Conics App
To get started with the Lines and Conics app follow the steps below to graph a line in standard form:
Example:
Graph the line 2x+3y=6
1. Select the Lines and Conics icon
from the Home Screen.
2. Press = in an empty equation to add an equation template.
3. Select the template for AX+BY=C.
4. Fill in the equation template using the numbers and arrow keys to navigate the entries.
NOTE: use the plus + and minus − signs to change the signs within the template.
5. Press = to complete the entry.
6. Press h to view the graph.
Note: Points of Interest Trace will find points of interest on equations that are functions (lines and vertical parabolas) if it is turned on.
7. Press g to explore the graph.
Note: Toggle between Y= editor and E: editor entry to manage the graphs of functions by pressing the c key.
