Cabinets and Flat Packs

Activity Overview

Students calculate the cost of remodelling a kitchen using a range of flat packs. The flat packs come in specific sizes and must be selected to fit the dimensions of the kitchen. What is the minimum length of a wall for which there will always be an appropriate combination of flat packs?

Define variable and interpret mathematical expressions;
Use whole numbers to construct tables for functions;
Specify rules of linear functions and use this function to predict other values;
