Activity Overview
In this activity students use TI-nspire to explore how data can be organised and displayed using stem-and-leaf plots. Multiple sets of data are embedded in the file so the focus is on understanding rather than data entry.
Objectives
The aim of this activity is for students to build a greater conceptual understanding of stem-and-leaf plots, including interpreting data extracted from the associated plots.

About the Lesson
Students are provided with multiple data sets which include "student test scores", "fuel prices" and "AFL data". The worksheet focuses on the first two data sets and the interpretation. Teachers can extend the activity using the AFL data sets. Built in data sets allow students to focus on interpretation rather than data entry.
