Workshop Objectives |
| 2. |
Zombie Apocalypse Simulation (morning, 60 minutes) Participants will work through the STEM Behind Hollywood simulation to increase their comfort level with the TI-Nspire™ CX handheld. |
Biology: The Human Body Statistics: Describing Bivariate Data |
| 3. |
Zombies: Are You a Cool Zombie? (morning, 30 minutes) Participants will use an EasyTemp® sensor to evaluate the temperature of a zombie. |
Technology: Sensor-Based Data Collection & Analysis |
| 4. |
Zombie Outbreak (morning, 60 minutes) Hands-on simulation of the spread of disease will be investigated through chemical means. Participants then do a calculator simulation to see the rate at which a virus can spread through a population. |
Technology: Mathematical Modeling |
| 5. |
Walk Like a Zombie (afternoon, 75 minutes) Participants will use a CBR 2™ motion sensor to compare and contrast living and undead gaits to determine signature shambles of the undead. |
Physics: Forces & Motion Algebra 1: Linear Functions |
| 6. |
Zombies Losing Their Gip (afternoon, 75 minutes) The use of a gas pressure sensor and plastic bottle will be used to evaluate normal human grip strength and muscle fatigue in order to identify zombies using grip strength. |
Biology: The Human Body |
