Daren Starnes is the Chair of the Lawrenceville School Mathematics Department. He holds the Robert S. and Christina Seix Dow P'08 Distinguished Master Teacher Chair in Mathematics.

Starnes is a nationally known mathematics teacher, with particular expertise on the subject of statistics. He is the lead author of the best-selling high school AP Statistics text “The Practice of Statistics,” (currently in its fifth edition as of 2014) and of the on-level high school text “Statistics through Applications” (now in its second edition as of 2014). Both books are published by Bedford, Freeman, and Worth. Starnes is also the co-author of “Making Sense of Statistical Studies” (published by the American Statistical Association), a capstone module in statistical thinking for high school students.
