Workshop overview

Designed for high school algebra, geometry and statistics educators who need support transitioning to Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for mathematics, this workshop addresses key topics across the six Common Core conceptual categories for high school mathematics, along with essential technology skills for the TI-84 Plus CE family of graphing calculators. By the end of the workshop, you’ll be comfortable using the TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculator and TI-SmartView™ CE emulator software for the TI-84 Plus graphing family to deepen student understanding of key CCSS topics in algebra, geometry and statistics. We'll help you identify main support needs, with coverage of key CCSS domains in algebra, geometry and statistics.

  • Introduction to CCSS for Mathematical Practice
  • Overview of essential TI-84 Plus technology skills, including the MathPrint™ feature
  • Introduction to apps designed to explore multiple representations
  • Deeper discussions of the role of technology to engage students in Common Core Math Practices
  • Additional statistics coverage, including features for graphing and analyzing univariate and bivariate data

What to expect from your in-person workshop

  • Twelve hours of hands-on, interactive professional learning held in a small group setting over two, six-hour sessions
  • Receive your TI technology and training materials at the workshop site
  • Receive a certificate of attendance that may be accepted as professional development credit from your school or district
  • We will follow local protocols and safety recommendations and request that all attendees do the same for the health of all in attendance
  • If circumstances change, we may need to cancel the workshop or convert this offering to a virtual workshop to comply with local guidelines, and we will notify all registrants as soon as possible
