Next Steps With TI-Nspire™ Technology in High School Mathematics

Educators with intermediate-level knowledge of TI-Nspire™ technology will learn how to create activities to excite and engage students in high school mathematics. This workshop covers a variety of topics, including Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, Calculus and Statistics.

Learn how TI-Nspire™ technology facilitates reasoning, sense-making and understanding in an interactive mathematics classroom. You’ll have time to create your own activities and explore ways to enhance classroom activities with formative assessment.

Overview

This workshop is available in one-, two- and three-day options to accommodate educator-specific needs. The two- and three-day workshops offer a more extensive exploration of topics.

workshop-1-day
  • Review of TI-Nspire™ handheld capabilities.
  • Exploration of dynamic, interactive lessons with pre-made student questions and teacher notes.
  • Function investigation by creating a TI-Nspire™ document with sliders.
  • Creation of assessment documents using TI-Nspire™ Teacher Software.
workshop-2-day
  • Additional coverage of the built-in graphs, data and statistics, and calculator applications, including basic computer algebra systems (CAS) functionality.
  • Mathematical modeling using interactive math boxes.
  • Opportunities for differentiation based on educators’ subject areas and needs.
workshop-3-day
  • Introduction to the PublishView™ feature, which enables interactive lessons with embedded video.
  • Data collection and analysis with the Vernier EasyTemp® USB temperature sensor.
  • Additional opportunities for differentiation based on educators’ subject areas and needs.
