Getting Started with the TI-30Xa in Secondary Mathematics

Designed for educators who are just beginning to use the TI-30Xa scientific calculator in a middle grades or high school mathematics classroom, this workshop covers key features of the TI-30Xa scientific calculator.

Learn basic functionality of the TI-30Xa scientific calculator, including how to perform operations with fractions and mixed numbers, calculate basic conversions, and analyze one-variable statistics. By the end of the workshop, you will be able to use key features of the TI-30Xa scientific calculator in your middle grades or high school mathematics classroom.


This is a one-day, in-person workshop. A virtual workshop is also available in multiple two- or three-hour sessions.

Participants in this workshop will:

  • Perform operations with integers, fractions and mixed numbers
  • Convert between fractions, decimals, and percents
  • Simplify expressions involving scientific notation, powers, and roots
  • Calculate one-variable statistics
  • Evaluate trigonometric and logarithmic functions
