Workshop Overview

This workshop is designed for educators interested in learning more about coding using the TI-Innovator™ Hub with TI Launchpad™ Board as well as the TI‑Innovator™ Rover to further engage students in coding and STEM applications.

Building upon the lessons from TI’s 10 Minutes of Code for the TI‑Innovator™ Hub, the workshop shows participants how to control the Hub and the built-in light and sound sensors. The coding applications covered will be connected to concepts in math and science.

Day two of the workshop will include an introduction to TI-Innovator™ Rover and its applications for math and science.

By the end of the workshop, participants should be comfortable:
  • Writing programs that control input and output commands on the Hub using the TI‑Nspire™ CX handheld Program Editor
  • Using variables in a program
  • Using syntax to input numbers into a program
  • Exploring other coding techniques such as using lists
  • Applying what they have learned to create their own activities
During this workshop, participants will learn to:
  • Write programs that control the light, LED and sound devices on the Hub
  • Use loops to control color, color and sound
  • Use If … Then … Else … End statements to adjust the brightness level to affect output devices
  • Explore further functionality of the TI‑Innovator™ Hub, TI‑Innovator™ Rover and of programming
