### Thursday, June 20

#### 9 – 10:30 a.m. | Day One First Morning Sessions

Session 1 | Success on Day One With TI-84 Plus CE Technology

• Using the home screen for more than computations
• Graphing functions y = and beyond … functions, table and trace
• Entering, graphing and analyzing data
• Effective use of the basic features of TI-SmartView™ CE software

Session 2 | Success on Day One With TI-Nspire™ Technology

• Overview of the TI-Nspire™ CX graphing calculator, including general calculator, graphing and statistical functionality
• Exploration of dynamic, interactive lessons for algebra I, geometry, algebra II, precalculus, calculus and statistics
• Introduction to basic features of TI-Nspire™ Teacher Software

Session 3 | Learning to Code With the TI-Innovator™ Hub Using TI-84 Plus CE and TI-Nspire™ Technology

• This session is designed for educators interested in introducing coding to their students using the TI-Innovator™ Hub
• Extend the lessons seen in the 10 Minutes of Code with TI-Innovator™ technology to excite students in learning the code to control the TI-Innovator™ Hub and the built-in sensors, including light and sound and making music
• Engage your students with the latest technology, preparing them for the next stage to explore real-world STEM applications

Session 4 | Introduction to Data Collection in Science and Math Classrooms With TI-Nspire™ Technology

• Overview of the data collection capabilities of the TI-Nspire™ CX graphing calculator, including data collection with the Vernier EasyTemp® USB temperature sensor and CBR™ 2 motion sensor
• Data analysis through the development of mathematical models
• Exploration of interactive simulations

Session 5 | Next Steps With TI-84 Plus CE Technology

Learn how the TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculators facilitate reasoning, sense-making and understanding in an interactive mathematics classroom. You will discover how to implement activities to excite and engage students in high school mathematics. You will also be empowered to create your own activities and explore ways to enhance your students’ learning.

• Review primary TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculator capabilities
• Explore higher-level and lesser-known calculator functionalities
• Using the DRAW menu interactively
• Graphical databases
• Discuss effective classroom practices involving the TI-Smartview CE software

Session 6 | Next Steps With TI-Nspire™ Technology in High School Math

Learn how TI-Nspire™ technology facilitates reasoning, sense-making and understanding in an interactive mathematics classroom

• Review of TI-Nspire™ CX graphing calculator capabilities
• Investigations into transformational geometry
• Exploration of dynamic, interactive lessons with premade student questions and teacher notes
• Function investigation by creating a TI-Nspire™ Document with sliders

Session 7 | Learning to Code With the TI-Innovator™ Rover

This session is designed for teachers interested in introducing coding with the TI-Innovator™ Rover to their students. This session will highlight lessons that include topics that will engage your students in new and exciting ways, such as programming the TI-Innovator™ Rover to:

• Drive a path
• Draw geometric shapes
• Move along the XY coordinate plane

Session 8 | STEM Camps, Clubs and Classroom Projects With the TI-Innovator™ Hub

This session is designed for math and science teachers interested in introducing STEM projects in the classroom or in summer camps with the TI-Innovator™ Hub and either TI 84 Plus CE or TI-Nspire™ CX technology.

• Explore TI’s STEM project, “Moody Hues” mood ring activity. Learn to program input and output feedback control to make the built-in lights on the Hub mimic the colors of a mood ring
• Discuss how to guide students on the path to building their own STEM projects with activities that challenge them to address current real-world issues
• Understand the science behind the greenhouse effect and other science principles. Use math, computer programming and engineering to design and build models to solve current problems

#### 1 – 4 p.m. | Day One Afternoon Sessions

Session 9 | Exploring Algebra and Geometry Topics With TI-84 Plus CE Technology

Utilizing the TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculator, we will explore algebra and geometry topics and discuss them with regard to vertical alignment, such as:

• Functions: Linear functions, systems and relations
• Congruence, similarity and right triangles
• Investigations into Transformational Geometry

Session 11 | Making Math and Science Meaningful With the TI-Innovator™ Hub and Rover

This session is designed for teachers interested in introducing the TI-Innovator™ Hub and Rover to their students. Participants will choose from math and science lessons that include topics that will engage students in new and exciting ways, such as:

• Exploring the relationships between distance, rate and time
• Illustrating the intersection of two lines by crashing the Rover while connecting velocity to the slope and starting distance to the y-intercept
• Exploring the relationships between distance, rate and time through challenges involving driving a line and navigating a city
• Classifying species by working through a dichotomous key and putting the Rover through a battery of tests and observing the Rover’s behavior
• Exploring pedigrees by determining if a dominant or recessive allele is expressed for separate traits

Session 12 | Data Collection: Connecting Science and Math With TI-84 Plus CE and TI-Nspire™ CX Technology

This session will focus on integrating key science and mathematics concepts with TI technology.

• Learn to connect science and math principles that engage students and allow them to transfer their knowledge across disciplines
• Explore simulations and data-collection activities from TI’s 84 Activity Central and Science Nspired, and discuss integrating them into your classrooms

Session 13 | Exploring Precalculus and Calculus Topics With TI-84 Plus CE Technology

Join this session as we explore how the topics below can help students move through a vertical curriculum, from precalculus to calculus.

• Modeling Various Functions: Statistical regression, choosing the best model, interpolating/extrapolating information
• Polynomial Equations and Functions: Graphing and evaluating, finding relative extremes, an exploration of zeroes
• Trigonometry: Transformations, solving trigonometric equations
• Calculus: Tangent line approximations, exploring the relationship between a function and its derivatives, the relationship between integration and the area between a curve and the x-axis

Session 14 | Exploring Precalculus and Calculus Topics With TI-Nspire™ CX Technology

Open-ended struggle is the key to learning. This session will focus on providing opportunities that encourage a growth mindset and allow students to struggle productively in developing their “math and science sense.” Let’s discuss what this looks like in your classroom.

Session 16 | STEM Camps, Clubs and Classroom Projects With the TI-Innovator™ Hub

This session is designed for math and science teachers interested in introducing STEM projects in the classroom or in summer camps with the TI-Innovator™ Hub and either TI-84 Plus CE or TI-Nspire™ CX technology.

• Guide students on the path to building their own STEM projects with activities that challenge them to address current real-world issues
• Understand the science and math behind TI’s Pet Car Alarm With TI-Innovator™ Hub project
• Use math, computer programming and engineering to design and build models to solve current problems

Session 17 | Developing Deeper Conceptual Understanding to Prepare for the ACT® test Using TI-84 Plus CE Technology

Students who only excel at procedural fluency (memorizing steps and formulas) will have a tough time on the math section of the redesigned ACT® Test. What is needed?

This session will explore:

• A deeper understanding of the concepts
• How we can leverage TI technology to meet our goals
• Activities and ideas that promote conceptual understanding

Session 18 | Developing Deeper Conceptual Understanding to Prepare for the ACT® test Using TI-Nspire™ CX Technology

Session 20 | Implementing the NGSS in Physical Science With the 3D Learning Model

• Explore the elements of the 3D learning model
• Learn how TI technology can be integrated for student understanding by performing an easy investigation that aligns to the standards in physical science
• Discuss the standards related to the investigation and how to make sure they are successfully implemented in your classroom

#### 2:30 – 4 p.m. | Day Two Second Afternoon Sessions

Session 21 | Exploring Statistics Topics With TI-84 Plus CE Technology

• Interpreting Univariate Data: Representing data with dot plots, comparing center and spread of data sets, use of the mean and standard deviation to fit a data set into a normal distribution
• Interpreting Bivariate Data: Represent bivariate data on a scatter plot, describe the relationship, and interpret the slope and intercept of a linear model in the context of the data
• Conditional Probability: Use independence and conditional probability to interpret data; use the rules of probability to compute probabilities of compound events
• Making Inferences and Decisions: Understand and evaluate random processes underlying statistical experiments

Session 23 | Getting Started With the TI-Nspire™ CX Navigator™ System

Are you new to the TI-Nspire™ CX Navigator™ System? Still trying to get the basics down? What do you do if you run into trouble?

This session will cover:

• Installation of the software, as well as configuring the network manager and class rosters
• The association of the graphing calculators and the placement of the TI-Nspire™ CX Navigator™ Access Point
• First-day usage, which includes things like the Quick Poll, Live Presenter and Class Capture features

Note: Participants will need to bring their own laptops for this session.

Session 24 | Makerspace: TI-Innovator™ Hub and Rover

Take time to dive deeper, investigate, create and play. Spend more time:

• Coding with the TI-Innovator™ Hub or learning about STEM projects
• Programing the TI-Innovator™ Rover or exploring the activities
• Working with probe ware
