Learning to Code With TI Graphing Technology
- This session is designed for educators interested in introducing coding to their students using TI-84 Plus CE or TI-Nspire™ CX handhelds
- Building upon the lessons from the 10 Minutes of Code, the session introduces the basics of coding principles including logic, selection statements and loops, etc.
- The principles of coding will be connected to many concepts in the math and science curriculum to increase student understanding
- By the end, you should be comfortable with using TI-Basic and the transferrable skills to move to the next stage in coding
Getting Started With TI-84 Plus CE Technology (Calculator and Software)
- How is this member of the TI-84 Plus family different than previous TI-84 Plus family graphing calculators?
- Overview of the TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculator, basic computation and graphing and functionality
- Effective use of TI-SmartView™ CE Emulator Software
Getting Started With TI-Nspire™ Technology (Calculator and Software)
- Overview of the TI-Nspire™ handheld, including general calculator, graphing and statistical functionality
- Exploration of dynamic, interactive lessons for algebra I, geometry, algebra II, precalculus, calculus and statistics
- Introduction to basic features of Teacher Software
Supporting Student Learning
- What are the elements of a rich task, as described in NCTM’s Principles to Action?
- Explore tasks that promote the growth mindset
- Review sample tasks and discuss the key components that push student thinking

Learning to Code With the TI-Innovator™ Hub (TI-84 Plus Family and TI-Nspire™ Family)
- This session is designed for educators interested in introducing coding to their students using the TI-Innovator™ Hub with TI Launchpad™ Board
- Extend the lessons seen in the 10 Minutes of Code with TI-Innovator™ Hub to excite students in learning the code to control the TI-Innovator™ Hub and the built-in sensors, including light and sound
- Engage your students with the latest technology, preparing them for the next stage to explore real world STEM applications
Exploring Algebra II and Precalculus Topics with TI-84 Plus CE Technology (Calculator and Software)
- Topics will include functions and relations, specifically developing an understanding of functions
- Participants will construct, compare, interpret and analyze quadratic, exponential, rational and trigonometric functions
- Other topics included on the Florida State Standards will be addressed
Data Collection in Science and Math Classrooms with TI-Nspire™ Technology (Calculator and Software)
- Overview of the TI-Nspire™ handheld, including data collection with the Vernier EasyTemp® USB temperature sensor and Calculator-Based Ranger 2™ (CBR 2™) motion sensor
- Data analysis through the development of scientific models
- Exploration of interactive simulations
Orchestrating Effective Discussions
- This session will address strategies to promote effective and engaging discussions that give all students a voice in your classroom.
- A focus will be on emphasizing NCTM’s Five Practices for Orchestrating Productive Math Discussions
- This session models rich tasks using in-depth discussions and Mathematical Teaching Practices, with an emphasis on task analysis, questioning strategies and essential TI technology skills to enhance student learning

Making Math and Science Meaningful with the TI-Innovator™ Hub and TI-Innovator™ Rover
- This session is designed for teachers interested in introducing the TI-Innovator™ Hub with TI-Innovator™ Rover to their students
- This session will highlight lessons that can include topics that will engage your students in new and exciting ways such as:
- The relationship between distance, rate and time
- Designing and measuring a segmented path
Exploring Statistics Topics with the TI-84 Plus CE Technology (Calculator and Software)
- Interpreting Univariate Data
Represent data with dot plots; compare center and spread of data sets; use the mean and standard deviation to fit a data set into a normal distribution
- Interpreting Bivariate Data
Represent bivariate data on a scatter plot, describe the relationship, and interpret the slope and intercept of a linear model in the context of the data
- Conditional Probability
Use independence and conditional probability to interpret data; use the rules of probability to compute probabilities of compound events
- Making Inferences and Decisions
Understand and evaluate random processes underlying statistical experiments

STEM Camps, Clubs and Classroom Projects With the TI-Innovator™ Hub
- This session is designed for math and science teachers interested in introducing STEM projects in the classroom or in summer camps with and the TI-Innovator Hub with TI Launchpad™ Board and either TI-Nspire™ CX technology, or TI-84 Plus CE technology
- Guide students on the path to building their own STEM projects with activities that challenge them to address current real world issues
- Understand the science behind the greenhouse effect, and other science principles; and use math, computer programming and engineering to design and build models to solve current problems
Exploring Precalculus and Calculus Topics with TI-84 Plus CE Technology (Calculator and Software)
- Modeling Various Functions – statistical regression, choosing the best model, interpolating/extrapolating information
- Polynomial Equations and Functions – graphing and evaluating, finding relative extremes, an exploration of zeroes
- Trigonometry – transformations, solving trigonometric equations
- Calculus – tangent line approximations, exploring the relationship between a function and its derivatives, the relationship between integration and the area between a curve and the x-axis
