Activity Overview
Students will conduct a survey of the class to determine favorite pizza toppings. They use this sample information to predict the preferred toppings for the school and use the TI-15 to help them with the calculations to plan a school-wide pizza party.

During the Activity
Distribute the pages to the class.
Follow the activity procedures:
Find the number of students who choose each flavor of ice-cream
Record the total number of students in the class to determine the percent of students preferring each flavor
Conduct a survey of the class to determine the favorite pizza toppings
Record the number of students who vote for a particular topping
Use the calculator to find the percentage of the class that prefers each type of topping
Calculate the percentage and the number of students in the school who are likely to prefer each type of topping
Calculate the number of pizzas of each type that is needed
Create a chart showing the survey results and write an explanation of the calculations
After the Activity
Review student results
As a class, view posters and discuss the similarities and differences between the different solutions
Re-teach concepts as necessary
