Students explore the relationship between force, charge, and distance for two charged particles.
Students use simulations of charged particles to investigate the effects of distance and charge on electric force.
They first determine the relationship between the distance between two particles and the electric force between them.
Then, they determine the effects of varying the charges of the particles on the electric force. They combine their observations to write a general equation for the relationship between distance, charge, and force.
