Students use precompiled data to determine the velocity of a falling object from a graph of its position vs. time.
Students use a graph of position vs. time to identify the terminal velocity of a falling object. They first examine the position vs. time graph and describe the object's motion.
Next, students fit a straight line to the terminal velocity region of the graph. They identify the slope of the line to determine the velocity of the object.
Finally, students study a graph of velocity vs. time to confirm their terminal velocity value.
